Going Along

Well, it’s almost Thanksgiving. Hrmph. Too weird, it comes way too fast anymore. Tomorrow is the big day. Should be fun. We are doing the typical feasting at my Mom and Dad’s house. I do love the holidays.

I got my web server mostly going again. Photo galleries are up. Main web page is up. Web cam is going. UtahDogs.com is up again on a new board, restored from the old. I don’t think the permissions are set quite right, though, because I’m not able to change the templates remotely. I’ll need to check on that. I need to get it going again. It was a nice site, now it’s just the board, rather boring. And I don’t think any of the pictures came across, so I need to get that set up, too.

But, agility this weekend, and I think it’s only 1 ring, so Sat and Sun will both be all dayers.

I think I’m going to take Lucy, too. I took her to the vet last night and she seems okay. She could have arthritis, but the vet moved here here and there, this way and that, and said she doesn’t have a very good range of motion, especially in her left elbow, but she doesn’t seem unhealthy in any way. We got some anti-inflammatories to see if they might help. So perhaps Lucy just doesn’t like to jump. I just don’t want her to be in any pain.

She is just not a motivated pup. She likes eating, and laying around, and going on slow walks. But going fast is not her style. Silly girl. She is hard for me to train and motivate. Levi is easier, and Chase will probably be easier too. Levi is a pleaser boy and I think Chase is mostly too.

I haven’t worked with Chase much yet… been concentrating on Lucy and Levi. Mostly Lucy with that last UKC trial. She did pretty good, and would have Q’d had she gone over the jumps instead of around them. Silly goof. :)

Fish

You know what is getting rather fun for me, is my aquarium. 44 gallons, corner pent tank. I am working on the lighting. I do realize that most major anal retentive plant tank geeks think that the spiral compact fluorescents are not good for tanks, but I am going to try it anyway. Got an 85 watt SCF on order that should be here in a few days.

Maybe then my plants won’t suck so bad. LOL. The fish that I have no are doing pretty well. I didn’t see my Oto yesterday, I hope he lives okay, and I would like to get a couple more to keep him company. But Otos can be hard to keep sometimes. They are so damn sensitive.

The red raspberry tetras are so cute! And the angels just look so healthy. I hope this light makes the tank bright and chipper and cheery looking. Now it looks dull and dreary. And I hate dull and dreary, it just sucks! :D

Ugha

Hormones suck. Mainly PMS sucks. Parental fights suck. Rotten tones of voice suck. Life, in general, just can suck.

UKC Obedience with Lucy Friday night and Saturday. I hope we don’t suck. LOL

We will work on it some tonight.. no sucking, that is.

Sleeping definitely does not suck, and I wish I could do some now.

Nothing Much

I don’t have much to say today. Got a 2ndary server up over the weekend, to run my mail. Got it running but today it’s down *sigh* I don’t know why. Servers are hard.

UKC Obedience with Lucy this weekend. I have been working with her every day! I hope we do well.

I’m tired and want to go to bed…

Yet Another Light Bulb Joke

How many members of the Bush administration does it take to change a light blub?

Seven:

One to deny that a light bulb needs to be replaced;

one to attack and question the patriotism of anyone who has questions about the light bulb;

one to blame the previous administration for the need of a new light bulb;

one to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secret stockpile of light bulbs;

one to get together with Cheney and figure out how to pay Halliburton $1 million for a light bulb;

one to arrange a photo-op showing Bush changing the light bulb while dressed in a flight suit and wrapped in an American flag;

one to explain to Bush the difference between screwing a light bulb and screwing the country.

Holiday Tomorrow

Well, life goes on. I have the new web server up, but only with minimal functionality. I have the two photo galleries working okay, which are the most important things. I’m not too concerned with animalfoster.com, or utahdogs.com, because they are so low volume. But I hope to get at least utahdogs.com up pretty soon. I do want to put it on a different computer, though, and I’ll need a power supply for that before I get it going. And I need my mail working too.

I’m jogging again, which is great. Only going a couple miles at a time though, but last night 2 miles was just not enough. It took me only about 25 mins. So I might up it tomorrow to my 2.93 loop through the neighborhood. I’ve only been taking Levi, ’cause Chase needs to understand loose leash walking first. So I work with Chase after my run with Levi.

I had surgery on my mouth last week. Yuckola. I had three gum grafts. They take gum from the roof of your mouth and graft it onto teeth. Three teeth on my right side. I guess my gums were receding really bad. Geesh, it sucks getting old. I totally understand the saying “Youth is wasted on the young.” I need some of that youth!
:D

Update

You know what is amazing to me… cache. My server has been down for at least a week, probably two, and still I can see all the images on my blog that are hosted on my no-longer-existent web server. :D

On a good note, I got apache started last night. After fighting with apache2 for about four days. Don’t know why it would not start. Sometimes it gave me an error, sometimes not, depending on what I would change. So I unloaded the apache2 packages and loaded up apace, and viola, it just started.

So now cynthiablue.net is a valid URL once again. :) However, I need to get working on getting everything restored. And of course now both my other 2 machines are off line… gah, when it rains, it sure does pour!
