As Donald McCaig wrote in his excellent book “Eminent Dogs, Dangerous Men,” the longer you work with dogs the more regrets you have for all the things you would have done better if you’d known better. I messed up my wonderful Charlemagne (CH U-AGI Caerleon’s Dreams of Empire, NA, NAJ, TT, TDI, CGC, HIC) for obedience through listening to incompetent trainers (I walked out of one class when the instructor tried to correct a crooked sit by kicking him in the balls!).
