Too Many Dog Sports

You know, work really gets in the way of doing the things I love. Now I do dog classes… oh, 3 times a week? Or is it four. I think just three but I’m going to start to alternate. If only I didn’t have to work…Chase Weaves

I’m doing Flyball on Sundays with Chase now, and oh my gosh does he love it. To run like mad over and over again… he’s not too ball motivated but he gets them just fine, the tug is his main reward. :)

Monday night is agility class with both Levi and Chase. Tuesday was heeling class but that’s on hold for now, instead I’m going to take Chase to beginning obedience Thursday nights. He really needs focus work and I just LOVE the person I’m taking the classes from. Then Saturdays I’m going to some agility practice. But that is also going to alternate depending on what time I have.

I have not been doing much herding with Levi. Probably won’t be for a while, though I would like to get his 2nd ASCA Started leg… we’ll have to see. Time and money, never enough of both! And he’s not really all that good anyway. Maybe the next smooth collie pup will be…

Feeding the Dogs

Well, I think I’ve finally come to a happy balance with feeding the dogs.

They get 1 or 2 chicken necks each meal, I think the bone is good. I also grind up a chicken mix. Taking a whole chicken, bones and all, and grinding. Then I mix in some Oatmeal, Veggies of various sorts, and Organs, and viola, there is my mix.

I also throw in some pork and beef and turkey and whatever other meat I can find on sale. I wish I could get some other kinds like lamb, but I’ve had a hard time finding it at a good price.

This variety seems to keep the dogs poop nice and solid and I feel good about feeding it. I guess that makes me a BARFer since I don’t feed only prey model. I like having other things in there. I also throw in fish oil pills and some flea treats occasionally. Oh, and the various bit of tripe.

We are happy now! Well, except the husband who just thinks it’s all gross.

I Love Seattle

I love Seattle, and I love the rain. Too often I have sat through weeks and weeks of clear blue skies here in Utah and wished for some rain.

However, if I lived up there, I might not like it so much.

I went up to Seattle October 15-19th for a CGI-AMS conference for work. The conference was okay, I wish there was a bit more technical things than there were. But just being up there was wonderful.

My Mom came with and we had a great time. I love to travel with my Mom and spend time with her. We get along great on our travels and have a good time. I hope she wasn’t too bored while I was in the conference! We stayed an extra day and played a lot in Pike Place Market. I love that Market!

I bought a salmon and checked it home as baggage. Oh man, that was yummy!

Friends

Changed the theme today… actually, I might just change it often. I loaded up a few of the free ones that I like, and Ilike change!

Anyway… I’m back from Dog Camp. Been back a few weeks now. And I just had to say I had such an awesome time. I finally uploaded my pictures and they are great.

This is my favorite picture:

I love how Levi is still, and Chase is in motion.
The boys had such a great time. Chase’s feet hurt so bad at the end… he wore them raw. But he had so much fun I didn’t want to slow him down. He got to come home to heal up.

I also made some new friends. That was the very best part. Having been so shy, and having social anxiety… I was so good at keeping it in check that week, and it was wonderful. I am excited to have some more great friends. And I chatted and relaxed and it was great. :)
