When I got my other current dog I considered (very briefly!!) naming him Linus to keep with the theme but that was just not gonna happen. What, "Liney" as a nickname? Uh, no. Instead I chose Walter, which made my short list because it didn't rhyme with "no" and didn't end in the oh-so-common "eee" sound. I love the name but not long after choosing it someone told me about the children's story "Walter the Farting Dog"...
