Rest Day

3 June, 2007 (17:38) | Uncategorized | By: Cynthia

This afternoon is a day of rest. *sigh* I’m tired. I had a birthday party yesterday. Weirdest thing. Lots of people came. Dog friends, work friends, and family. I was so stressed afterwards. But now I’m better. Being the center of attention is not my favorite thing.

And one of my friends, coming from an agility trial, brought her dogs. Raygen is the sweetest cattle dog ever. Not heard of a sweet cattle dog? Well, he is. He’s mostly white with some red mottling. Very cute. And she’s clicker trained him to sneeze on cue. It’s the cutest darn thing. She captured it with the clicker. She’s awesome at clicker training.

So it was a fun party. It’s dinner time for the dogs now, Lucy is bringing me toys, means she really wants to eat!

On this day..

Ha! Johann can sneeze on cue too! I ask ‘do you have a cold’ and he sneezes! It is so funny! I clicker train too, love it. And when Gracie or Johann offer up a new behavior, I run and get the clicker and name it. Just like I did with the sneeze! Total fun to have a bag of ‘tricks’ to show folks.

That is so completely cool. :) My friend has told me to capture lots of stuff. Chase scratches the ground after he potties, she said to click and name it ‘kick’ or something. :) And she has one of her BCs do a bow, and her cue is “Who’s your queen?” LOL the fun things we can do!

I never have gotten the hang of clicker training. It is amazing the cool things you can teach a dog!

Glad you got a day of rest after your big day!

It was a nice rest day. :) Clicker training is tricky, your timing has to be very precise. It takes some practice.
