New Laptop

Well I couldn’t wait, I had to buy a new laptop… so I have it and I’m setting it up. Though of course I forget all the little things I need to reinstall to get it back where I want it. It has Vista, which I like so far. We’ll see how it goes.

We did get Jessi the foster dog on Monday. She is a doll and we love her already. She needs some confidence building and to gain wait. I’ll get more pictures and a video of her when I get more time, which hopefully will be tomorrow evening. And then I can start replying to comments again!

I need a calendar for Vista… that will display as a gadget. I wonder what I should use…

Limited Blogging

Well, my laptop is officially dead. I will try to keep up on my blogs through my desktop until I buy a new laptop. But my blogging might be limited for a week or two until I get a new laptop. I’m looking at an Acer, and this time I’m getting the extended warranty!

Hopefully my blogging won’t get too low. I may not be able to visit many other blogs as much as I like!

Jessi is a collie mix

This is Jessi and it looks like she might be coming to stay with us for a while. The Ogden Shelter called us today (us as in Collie Rescue) to see if we could help her out. Since we have room we agreed to take her. She is going to be driven down to us on Monday if all goes well. We wish we could help more dogs, we wish we could help them all. Limiting our rescue to collies just lets us set boundaries, boundaries we wish we didn’t have to set due to limited resources.

Of course I never count 100% on getting dogs until they are in our care. She could get adopted by then. The lady who called me said poor Jessi is getting depressed at the shelter. We should find out more information about her on Monday.

Please send some happy thoughts to sweet Jessi, the collie mix who is about 4 years old.

Laptop Update

Well, the laptop battery is charging. I disassembled the thing, vacuumed it out, and reassembled it. It is starting up now, though not staying on long. Hopefully because the battery is low even though it is plugged in. Only time will tell, now.

I love playing with computers, I am a programmer at work, and so taking it apart was pretty fun. I would love to get some more programming certifications. Might help me with the laptop, too! Maybe after I retire I’ll check out A+ certification training and see what I can do. My options will be way open so that’ll be awesome.

Laptop on the Fritz

Crap, my laptop is on the fritz. Ugh! This sucks. I am currently on my old desktop. I had to borrow my husbands nice flatscreen monitor, because I couldn’t even look at my old tube monitor, it’s in such awful shape. If I had to look at that, I’d not be on the computer, and I’d not be blogging. Unless I could hook the desktop up to my HDTV, which I think I could do in a pinch.

So today the laptop goes to the shop. I am quite upset. I am pretty confident I can get all the data off it, though. So this is just a pain. It won’t even turn on. No power. Yesterday it shut down on me suddenly, no warning, and wouldn’t start again.

So, it might be time for a new laptop, which sucks, because this one is only a year and a half old.

Bed Fixing Up

Our biggest bed-fixer-upper in Angel. She is a sweet doll, and she just goes to town moving blankets around, scratching, and nosing pillows out of the way. She mainly does this, of course, on our own bed, so when we go to bed at night we have to re-rearrange our beds.

Since I cleaned out the spare bedroom, now she thinks it’s the bees knees to go in there and fix up that bed. Every so often I’ll wander in that room and see the sheets all messed up, and know Angel has been there.

Chase does it a little bit, so does Levi, and Lucy hardly does it at all. I think it’s such a cute thing that Angel does.

Any of your dogs ‘fix’ up the beds?

Thunder is Scary

We are having a thunder storm! I love them.. Chase, on the other hand, doesn’t. He just jumped the gate into the cat room, where it’s dark and safe. Usually my husband is in there on his computers. Chase is the only dog allowed (okay he’s the only dog able) to jump the baby gates. But he is good.

So as we get some well-needed rain, Chase and Angel aren’t happy because of the booming thunder. Poor guys.
