Lucy’s Cheek

13 August, 2007 (14:21) | Uncategorized | By: Cynthia

Lucy is doing well. At first the vet thought she did have a bee sting, but only one side of her face is swollen, and the vet said usually the whole muzzle swells up with a sting. So she took Lucy in the back and poked around, and now she thinks Lucy’s tooth on that side is tender and probably abcsessed.

So she’s on anti-biotics and has an appointment to have her tooth extracted next Monday.

My husband doesn’t want me to give her bully sticks any more. :( But she loves them, they are so easy to pull out of the box to give, less fatty than pig ears, and they last a long time. So we need suggestions for alternatives.

We’ve always done marrow bones.. they can scrape their teeth on them but there isn’t any real chewing.. I’ve never fed bullysticks…

I always thought that by chewing you stimulate blood flow to the teeth which makes them stronger.. I know my own teeth have gotten better since I’ve been using the waterpik on my gums…

Yeah I dunno either. Maybe she has weak teeth. She does have clean teeth and never has needed them cleaned.
