Happy Halloween

Working from home today, good thing too because going to work was a pain, literally, with my sprained ankle yesterday. So no costume for me or the dogs. Oh well. The dogs prefer not to be dressed up anyway. In Las Vegas at flyball and agility they had costume contests. They were fun and every year I want to get costumes for my dogs, and then I never do. Not enough time, not enough energy.

Oh well. Maybe someday. I should get some Harry Potter costume for the dogs. But since I can’t sew, making them myself would be way too much work!

Tatum’s ILP Came!

Well that was fast. I don’t remember what day I sent in Tatum’s ILP pictures and application, but it was only a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t think she’d have a problem with her ILP but you just never know.

So she is now official with the AKC. I’ll get her flyball numbers in a bit, and ASCA too. Maybe find some Skagen watches so we can keep time when we do all our fun activities!

I had her out back today, I can sit and not hurt my ankle and work with her. And she is getting so much more interested in treats. I am very glad. It was even cheese. I do have to get her to look at me, eye contact, she is not quite doing that yet. I got the book Control Unleashed too, and reading it. It is a lot of what my trainer already says, but it’s nice to have it in written form.

So now for the training! The fun part!

Halloween Tomorrow

Ugh! My dogs won’t be dressed up for Halloween! Levi got orange spray on his tail at the agility trial, but that’s all. And Chase got his feet orange, but it came off too quickly.

I won’t be doing anything for Halloween this year, not with my sprained ankle. I do want to give out candy but I won’t be able to since I can’t hardly walk. Maybe if there are some kids party invitations to be sent out, I can sit and write or something. But walking is a no go.

Levi and Chase have been sleeping a lot since we got home. They are tired and having a well deserved rest.

Home at Last

Me and the boys are home. My ankle hurts so bad I can’t walk on it. Or put any weight on it. I twisted it on Saturday. I remember going onto the course fine, coming off and it hurt. Sunday it really took it’s toll on our runs so no Q. I drove home yesterday all the way, woke up this morning and my ankle is just a big swollen bundle of pain.

We are all tired. Still want to go to Arizona in January, though. Maybe look at some Arizona real estate while we are down there doing dog sports. :) I am going to go watch some TV and veg today.

Second Trial Day

I am beat dead tired. Ugh. Levi Qd in Open FAST, which is, I think, his title. Will have to check. Chase also Qd in Novice FAST, which is also his title, I think. Chase also qualified in open JWW, that’s his first open jumpers leg. Beautiful run, I got about 5 comments on how nice he is when I left the ring.

We didn’t need power supply repair while at the trial, good thing, we didn’t really have any power. The trial ran slow, though, maybe the people doing the recording needed some.

I’m going to check out of Pahrump tomorrow and head to Cedar City. We should be done (heavy emphasis on should) by about 11 am. No fast tomorrow and Chase is only in Open Standard. So we can head out right after. We are running excellent, excellent, open, open, novice novice (fast at the end of all those). I think we can easily make it to Cedar City.

Chase needs some weave work, apparently. He didn’t get the entry both runs, and in standard he didn’t want to finish. There wasn’t even a tunnel after the weaves. I’ll have to ask my trainer about it. But he did good in Standard anyway.

Well I’m going to go pack up, probably won’t be on the internet again until I get home Monday afternoon. Zzzzzz….

First Trial Day

Well today was the first day of the 3 day agility trial. It went too slow, for 33 dogs in Excellent Standard. But oh well, I don’t have much else to do.

Levi did pretty good but didn’t weave for me. I wonder if staying in a hotel for a week doesn’t’ let him relax like he should. Tomorrow if he doesn’t weave I’m going to bring him back, gently and positively, and encourage him to get them. He can, I know it!

Chase.. well, as expected, lost his brain entirely on his open standard run. But after flyball last weekend, I can’t be surprised. We worked, before and after, on all our exercises for attention and focus. I think it helped because his FAST run was much better and he qualified. I didn’t enter him in JWW today and I’m glad I didn’t. After Standard he got to go right to his crate, after walking off after 4 obstacles, and sit and think for a while. :)

I’m tired and I’m going to go watch TV for the night, and knit. There are no bar stools in this hotel room, but the bed is comfy, there is a desk, a table, three regular chairs, and a nice hot shower.

Me and the Boys

meandboys I took Chase and Levi on a little hike to Arizona, across the Hoover Dam earlier in the week. It was a long drive and the hike tired Levi out too much. It was just as fun as some caribbean cruises I think, though. I love getting out in the autumn desert. And Chase loved running around. We went in some narrows that provided a lot of shade. Shade is good. We took a break half way through too, and it was just so nice to sit and relax in the quiet of the desert.

I miss camping. I love going camping where it’s totally silent, and you just sit an listen to nothing. The sounds of nature. Away from the hustle of human civilization.

Lake Mead

chaseleviLake I love Lake Mead. Many good memories. Of my husband and I when we started to get together. I loved sailing the lake and camping out on the sailboat. So peaceful and wonderful. I took the boys to Echo Bay and they posed, under duress, for a picture. Not really as seen on tv, more real life, and wonderful.

The boys are having a great time. Agility tomorrow, hopefully Levi won’t be pokey slow boy. He seems tired. I wonder if the hotel doesn’t give him a good rest like at home. I guess we’ll find out!
