Hi Lora thanks. Chase already loves it, more than anything! But his box turn isn't as high on the box as I would like.

Hi there,

Both of my dogs, including a largish german shepherd mix, learned their box turn with the gutter method, described in detail at

http://bckennels.lunarpages.com/Turns.html

This webpage is pretty detailed and includes lots of short videos to illustrate the points. A number of high-ranked teams use this method to teach the turn. One of my dogs has been to several tournaments and has never lost her turn; in fact her turn is as high at the end of a tournie as it was at the start.

But, this is not to say that other methods can't do an equally good job. There's more than one way to annoy a cat as they say.

Have fun!
