It all depends on whether they understand "stay" or not!! Heeling...try holding a treat in your right hand and giving it as a reward instead of a "bribe." I remind them where heel position is and randomly treat when they're IN it...that gets them pretty focused. Levi has a great stand for exam because he was a show dog so he's used to it. Basically you stand your dog, walk 6 feet away, and the judge comes and touches the dog head to tail, then you go back. Pretty similar to conformation. In conformation Collies generally self stack, instead of other breeds where people place their four feet into a stack.
