		<description>I know what it is. In the show collies, the angle of the snout, the stop (area between the eyes) and the forehead are brought into line so they merge, forming a continuous plane from the nostrils to the ears.

This exaggerates the perceived length of all three. 

Just look at that SmoothCollies.net logo ---&#62;

In older Collies, or in current Collies like the English Shepherd or the Border Collie or even the Australian Shepherd, the forehead, the stop, and the snout are all distinct planes, often at very different angles to each other.

Muffit has three distinct planes, although his stop is certainly longer and more angled than you'd expect from a Border Collie, you can see it extending from the forehead to the center of the snout.

It's not that his nose is short, it's that it doesn't align the same way with the stop and the forehead.
