Snow or Sun?

14 March, 2008 (10:15) | Info | By: User ImageCynthia [My Barks!]

Well, I want sun for sure! I am tired of the cold! We have very wintery mountains here in Utah. Not only do people ski, they also snowboard. And on the mountains there are search and rescue dogs quite frequently. Many are trained in avalanche recovery, too. I am amazed by these dogs. They do, however, need a special permit to go up the canyons as they are water shed areas and no dogs are allowed (which I think is bunk but that’s for another post).

So do you snowboard? Does your dog? LOL… neither me nor my dogs snowboard… but if you are interested in Burton snowboards, check out Christy Sports. Great information and lots of fun things to buy! Since it’s the end of the season, maybe they will have some great sales!

On this day..

You think you have bad winters in Utah? Try North Dakota. I can’t wait for spring either. It seems to finally be warming up. Now all the snow is melting so everything is muddy and all my poor dog wants to do is run! I do take him to agility, which he loves. I don’t know much about flyball though. How can I learn more about it?

Ooo nooo Lindsay don’t make me move to North Dakota! I don’t really want that much cold. :) he he.

Flyball is fun. If you go to http://www.u-fli.com/ or http://www.flyball.org/ you can find a team in your area!

I am a sun person. Always have been, always will be. I don’t bathe in it. I stay in the shade. I don’t mean hot sun either, ’cause we have that here in Utah, too and it is no fun. But the weather should not be more then 80 on a hot day and never below 55 on a cold day. And never rain, ever!! Well only once in a while. ;-) I so miss it!
If I would be a kid I would love, love love it here. I would be out skiing all the time and drop out of school to work the slopes. Heehee!
My dogs, they like the snow ok, but there are no places to walk them without them getting their paws frozen or salty. And the snow in my yard would get mushy and then freeze again, no more playing in the yard either, of run the risk of cutting a pad.
