Whatsit Just another cute cute picture of Whatsit playing flyball. :) He is such a doll.

The dogs are having some nice supervised chew time with their rawhides. I’m not a big fan of rawhides, but we do give them to the dogs occasionally. I’m out of bully sticks, need to get more. Bully sticks don’t last quite as long. And the dogs are not very good at Kongs yet but I am working on getting them to be more persistent with the Kongs.

Finding chew toys that will occupy large dogs.. or medium, I guess maybe they are called… 30 to 65 pounds are our dogs… anyway, finding chewies that will last an hour is nearly impossible. Especially ones that are clean and can be in the house.

Even ones for a small dog is hard. It’s gotten to the point where we are weary of giving them any, even though they enjoy them quite a bit.

With my dog nothing lasts more than 30 minutes! She has the amazing ability to chew through anything in record time. Yet she loves rawhides! If she got them as much as she wanted I would go broke buying them.

Heya Monique.. yeah, we have supervised chewing with rawhides. They can be hard. And my dogs will fight over them if they are left out.

That’s a great picture!

I finally found some nice US made rawhides from US beef and Bree doesn’t mess with them! She does love bully sticks. Ew, those things stink! LOL!

But even the bully sticks I don’t leave lying around all the time.

I’m sorry.. I have to laugh when you say your dogs are large… LOL! In comparison to mine, they are practically TINY!

Have you tried freezing the kongs? How do they do with frozen marrow bones?

I have only given Qay a bullystick and that was only to keep her busy while waiting her turn in agility class… otherwise she finds (not good) ways to entertain herself. They definately STINK!

I freeze Kongs with peanut butter, and that keeps my dog entertained for a half hour at the most. I haven’t found anything better. I usually leave him two or three toys to chew on. Once he gets bored with one, he can move on to the next.

LOL Jen yes, my dogs are small compared to yours! :) I think mine are big until we got to the park and see a Dane or a Mastiff. Then I think nope, they are small.

Heya Lindsay… my dogs are not too crazy about Kongs… yet. They will chew for a while but not too long. We are working on making them more interesting. :)

I’m with Fuzzy on this one… BIG hehehe. I guess it’s all relative. Try nylabones. They last forever and clean the dog’s teeth. Mine love them and will sit and gnaw at them for hours. A big plus is that they are not messy and great for in the house.

I had a beagle when I was growing up and there wasn’t a toy he wouldn’t destroy (or eat) within an hour’s time. After awhile, we gave up and he managed to settle for a pair of old leather shoes my uncle was throwing out. The only thing is that all of the rest of the footwear had to hidden from the old hound!
