Lots of Ribbons

Well, Levi and Chase won lots of ribbons this weekend. Today Levi got 3 out of 4 runs. And Chase got 1.. and he was very close on his others, too. Levi does so awesome. He would have had that standard run, too, but he was in a good mood and ran off to do a jump I didn’t send him too. But I actually like that it means he is having good forward focus and he’s having fun!

Chase also did good. I took some pictures but I’m too lazy to go upstairs and get the camera, so I’ll post them up tomorrow. Or maybe tonight after I go and feed the dogs. It’s just about dinner time and all the dogs are hungry.. of course. Though Chase, Levi and Tatum are pretty pooped and are all sleeping already. :)

Levi is so much fun to run. I’m starting to wrap my brain around running Levi and Chase at different trials. I am seriously considering going with some friends to a USDAA trial in May. I probably won’t go to the Blackfood Idaho 4 day trial if I do. The May USDAA is in Colorado, and splitting gas and hotel would make it cheaper than Blackfoot. I’d only take Chase, too.

Hrm… Well, I’m very tired, and the dogs are hungry!

The Husband’s Birthday!

Birthday CardToday is my husband’s birthday. I’m glad he doesn’t want to go out to dinner, becuase I am beat after doing the DOCNA agility trial all weekend. I’ll post about that in a bit… but I do have to post about my husband’s birthday!

Sometimes I actually get him a couple Birthday Cards, because I love cards. And I love getting paper cards, they are so nice, because they send a nice thought, and these cards let you customize them for a company with your logo, or a custom verse, to make it special for anyone you want to give them too. So maybe I will get this card birthdays, as I love balloons. And not only is it his birthday today, it was our five year wedding anniversary yesterday! I’m thrilled that we have made it five years and I’m excited that we are still quite happy.

I also like to get personalized birthday cards online. I like it when someone thinks about me and takes the time to send one. And these guys really make personalizing the cards easy. And I do so love easy! And they have a great selection too.

Anyway… off of birthdays and back to dogs in a bit!

Good Day at DOCNA

Well, back from the DOCNA trial. As it’s after 9pm I’ve been back for a while, and the muscles are starting to stiffen up. :) But that’s okay, it was a fun day. I do wish I could run Levi and Chase both well at the same trial. Today was Levi’s day. He got 3 out of 4 Qs. Two Standard and One Jumpers. Chase only got One Q, in Snakes and Ladders. He is strong in that, though. The Gamblers I messed up because I wasn’t sure about my course. And the Standard he was blowing his contacts so we trained instead.

Muffit did pretty well.. though most of the day he was wide awake and very over stimulated. Not until about 2pm did he start to settle down. He will stay home tomorrow, one day was definitely enough for him.

Tatum did great, she slept most of the day and come out to play and work occasionally. I walked her over to another building where they were doing obedience and conformation fun matches… and that made her nervous but she didn’t die, and later she was fine again.

Levi went through the obedience fun match and did great! I was impressed and we used minimal treats. So.. I’ll be entering him in ASCA obedience this summer to see how he does and get that CD. I took Chase though too, and he needed a treat on his target stick to pay attention to me. It is still hard for him but we are working on it.

The dogs are now very tired and sleeping. The Mum is also tired, and will be sleeping shortly!

Fancy Dog Events

I missed it this year… but every Valentine’s Day around here we have a special event where you can dress up and take your dog out to dinner! Okay your significant other can come too… my Husband and i have done it a couple of times, and it was a lot of fun. We have some pictures to show for it to I should scan them in and post them up.

My Husband doesn’t dress up much but.. sometimes he does, and it’s his birthday this weekend! I should get him some Unique Cufflinks. I’m always fascinated by cufflinks that men wear. I could get him some of these with semi-precious stones, or fiber optic glass! That would be appropriate since he’s a computer guy!

Hrmmm Entrecard

So I discovered Entrecard lately… have you heard of it? It’s not really dog related in and of itself, but it does have a Pets category and I’ve already found some fun dog blogs!

If you go and sign up you can make a little 125×125 image and uploaded to your account. And then you put the widget code in your sidebar. Then… people can drop their card on you, and you can drop your card on them. And the more you get and give, the more EC (Entrecard Credits) you get, so you can buy ads on other sites that have the widget… to get more exposure to your site.

I’m always looking for new and fun dog sites to find… and I do think I may already have a couple new readers here, and a couple new blogs for me to read!

Snow or Sun?

Well, I want sun for sure! I am tired of the cold! We have very wintery mountains here in Utah. Not only do people ski, they also snowboard. And on the mountains there are search and rescue dogs quite frequently. Many are trained in avalanche recovery, too. I am amazed by these dogs. They do, however, need a special permit to go up the canyons as they are water shed areas and no dogs are allowed (which I think is bunk but that’s for another post).

So do you snowboard? Does your dog? LOL… neither me nor my dogs snowboard… but if you are interested in Burton snowboards, check out Christy Sports. Great information and lots of fun things to buy! Since it’s the end of the season, maybe they will have some great sales!

Weather for Dog Sports

Chase Me Hrmph.. the weather isn’t looking very good for outdoor dog sports this weekend. I am so ready for spring! I love the spring! It’s cool enough for the dogs, and warm enough for us humans. :)

This is a wee pic of Chase Me doing flyball in Vegas! Where it was warm!

Homes for Dogs

I love our house. We have a great little house… yes it is only 1300 square feet. How do we fit 7 big dogs in 1300 square feet, you may ask? LOL well we do an okay job. We have a basement that is our TV room with lots of dog beds (though usually you’ll find the dogs on the couch). I do wish our rooms were bigger, though… and sometimes I toy with the idea of getting a bigger house, but I don’t want to get a new mortgage.

The current mortgage crises is interesting to me. Getting Commercial Mortgages was quite easy, even if you didn’t have the credit, or the funds… but now, I hear, it’s getting more difficult. Having dogs, I needed to buy a house, as I couldn’t find a rental that would allow me to have the dogs I have. But if you get a mortgage, be responsible. Don’t get more than you can pay for. Our mortgage should be paid off in two years, and I am thrilled. Then I can really pay for all my dog sports!
