Going to Colorado for Agility

I am headed out of town tomorrow (Wed) afternoon, going to Richfield Utah to meet with my friend down there who has shelties. Thursday we are going to drive to the Denver area, Colorado, for a three day agility trial. I will have Chase and Levi with me.

Then Monday is a day off for us, and Tuesday we are going to go to sheltie nationals! I won’t be able to enter, as it’s shelties only, but I’ll hang out and help, probably.

Then I’ll be back on the 18th… then on the 19th I’m going camping with my husband, sister, and friends from work. So… I may not be posting regularly until after the 20th. I’m going to be tired, and I’m going to miss blogging! I won’t be doing any Entrecard dropping for a while either. Bummer!

Muffit and Me

Muffit And Me

My husband took this picture when I was taking a nap on the couch with Muffit. He is such a sweet boy, all curled up by my head. I knew he was there when I went to sleep. And I do like to snuggle with the dogs. And yup, I can sleep like this just fine!

Tatum Went for a Visit

Well tonight Tatum went for a visit to her flyball friend’s house. Kibu was very excited to see Tatum… usually Tatum is very nervous in new places. But when the door opens and a very exuberant Kibu jumps out and gets excited, Tatum thinks she’s in heaven!

It was great to see Tatum so comfortable. I’m so proud of that girl. She is my little baby girl. She went outside an ran around like a maniac, sometimes playing with Kibu, sometimes on her own. She explored every nook and cranny of house and yard. I was thrilled. My shy little girl is really starting to get a lot of confidence.

Of course it was Kibu, another dog, being around that made her feel relaxed. But if that’s what she still needs, that’s what she still gets. Eventually I hope she’ll be just comfortable with me.

She is learning to tug with me. Downstairs earlier this evening on the couch she came over and was biting at my hands and clothes. So I redirected her to a sock and we played with that! Yay! I’m so glad she is learning that toys are fun (socks, in our house, are cheap dog toys) and she is starting to tug too. :)

Colloidal Silver for Health?

I am always looking for ways to be more healthy. For both me and the dogs. Though I will try stuff on myself that I may not try on the dogs. Because I just don’t know how it might affect them, and I don’t want to hurt them in any way. I am their guardian and their entire health is in my care, and I want to keep them very safe.

For me, though, I’ve been reading about colloidal silver. Very interesting. I guess in the olden days peopled used silver a lot, to keep wine fresh, doctors would use silver sutures on wounds, and settles in Australia would suspend silverware in their in water tanks to keep it from spoiling.

And colloidal silver can be used with humans to fight infection and aid in healing. Hrm.. interesting stuff, I think. I may have to look into it more closely.

Muffit Likes to Burrow

Muffit On The Bed Muffit is such a cute boy. Apparently he likes to burrow himself under the blankets… then scratch scratch scratch himself a bed so it’s comfy, then snuggle in. This is a very cute picture of him on our downstairs bed after he’s moved the blankets over himself.

I’m a bit worried about him… he drinks a lot, and pees a lot. What can be a cause of that? Diabetes? I’m going to ask the vet next time we go in, which will be pretty soon as our dogs are due for checkups. No vaccinations, though, just titers!

Thanks Entrecard!

I just want to thank all the Entrecard droppers who have been dropping on Tip Tail! Look, we are the fourth most expensive to advertise on in the Pets category!

entrecardcost

This makes me very excited! I know that Entrecard prices don’t really mean much in the big blogging world… however, since I’m an Entrecard nut, it means a lot to me personally. And it means that the people who drop cards are liking Tip Tail and coming back, and I do appreciate all of you!

I try to reciprocate drops as much as I can. I’ll be on vacation from this Wednesday until the following, and won’t be able to drop at all when I’m there. But I’ll do so again when I get back!

Thanks!

Four Very Tired Dogs

Me and Dogs on the Couch Yes… three dogs and one human do fit on a couch. Although barely!

Today I took four of our six dogs to flyball practice. It was fun. :) Chase already knows it and does a great job.

Levi.. I’m going to train him up, because he would have fun even if he isn’t fast. He should learn pretty quick. He went away from me just fine toward the box loader who had some treats, but on the way back he didn’t go over the jumps. He went by them! I thought that was odd. So I know what I have to work on with him.

Tatum is catching on to the jumping, she is such a good girl! I was so proud of her! We had her on just the jumps, and I put a lid and treat out on the other side of the jump like we have been doing at home. And she knew it! She went over the jump and got the treat like a pro! Then we did two jumps… then three! And she got them all! But on the way back… she came back to me but then ran off again and bunny hopped around the park again. LOL she is such a goon. I just adore her. I gave other people treats and she went to them, too, though, which was excellent. I want her to learn to go to people because people are good, not mean. No one is going to grab her collar anymore and drag her. Poor dear. I was just glowing I was so proud of her.

And Muffit.. he is too overwhelmed by the whole environment and just needs to be there for a while and get used to it and distress. Poor guy, he pooped in his crate. Realistically I should only bring him, and I should start really far away from the dogs so he can focus on me and think. He gets too excited and stressed to think. I was hoping he would be better than he is. But he’ll learn. He’ll be okay. I have faith. I knew Tatum would come around, and I know Muffit will, too.

All the dogs are sleeping now.. except Lucy. My Husband didn’t take her for a walk today, so she wants a bone. But if I give her one, all the dogs will wake up and the dynamic will change. And so she gets to just relax today and let the other dogs sleep. And I get to watch TV, fiddle with my HDMI switches on my HDTV, and veg. Flyball is tiring!

New Ring Gates!

Ring Gates I’m so excited! Okay maybe it’s weird to be excited about new ring gates, but I am. And look at how small my house is. Only two of them will fit, and kitty corner at that. LOL. I just got these the other day. They will help me and the dogs get used to being inside an obedience ring. Heck, any kind of ring. I got 4 gates and 5 stanchions… though I only got 4 stanchions and not sure if I ordered 4 or 5 now. I’ll have to ask since we did a group order.

They will really help us to practice the Go Out in obedience. I know that’s not until Utility… (which is after Novice and Open, for those who didn’t know), but still, we practice all the levels. It’s fun. Novice is mostly heeling, and you can only heel so much without being utterly bored. So we mix in the fun, more advanced, stuff at the same time. Like scent articles. Those really are fun.

Today is flyball practice. I’m going to attempt to bring four dogs… Chase, Tatum, Muffit, and Levi. Levi told me he wants to do flyball, so I’m going to train him up. Why not? He won’t be fast, but he’ll have fun!
