But I have has a tetanus shot in the last five years for other reasons. Guess you might as well get one just to be safe, like everyone said. Then again if you're fine now, I think you'll continue to be fine. Maybe you should just schedule a shot next time you're at the doctor for another reason. I've been there (as you know, but your readers might not); a few years back, a fear biter we were attempting to rehabilitate bit all the way through my right hand -- I could see through the hole! (IMHO, it doesn't hurt nearly as much as you'd think.) I went to the emergency room and faced a barrage of questions about the event, and they gave me some paperwork to complete about the dog, the situation, blah, blah, blah. I asked what that had to do with fixing my hand, and the answer was "We're required by law to have this completed by all dog bite victims and we have to turn it over to the authorities." As soon as their attention was distracted by somebody else, I got up and left the ER with the (blank) paperwork in my pocket. So, yes, get your tetanus shot, but say nothing about why you need it. Claim you fell onto a rusty nail, if you have to say anything at all.
