Chase’s First Obedience Trial Ever!

I am so thrilled with Chase’s first obedience trial! Levi, Chase and I went to an ASCA obedience trial today. I was nervous… I always get more nervous in obedience than in agility. But the boys did great. Levi got his first open Q… his first leg towards his CDX! I was happy, though he only got a 171. If I can just get him that CDX I’ll be super happy, he’s 9.5 years old and a good boy. I’d like to have a CDX on him before he retires.

Chase is only 5, and has lots of years ahead. And he understands heeling now! Just watch the video!

It’s not the best quality of video but it’ll do. I want an HD camera but can’t afford one. Anyway, I’m so proud of my boy. He got a 189.5. He held his sit and down stays just fine. His tail wagging the whole time. People thought he was so cute… lol his tail wagging worries me because it means his drive is up and he could break a stay at any time. But he didn’t. He did great!

We are going back tomorrow too. I hope the boys do well tomorrow!

One Q in ASCA Agility

Handsome Chase

I went to an ASCA agility trial today with Chase. I’ve been really sick lately and I haven’t been doing much, and I didn’t feel up to taking any of the other dogs. I only entered Chase and so just brought him.

He did really well. Unfortunately I couldn’t run fast enough or cue him fast enough to really do any good. He got one Q when a friend, Tracy, ran him. She did awesome and she has a border collie that runs a lot like Chase and so she didn’t have to change handling too much to run Chase.

I’m not going to go tomorrow because I feel so totally, completely awful. And Tracy won’t be there. So I’m going to stay home and get better. I hope to get some video of Chase’s runs. I feel bad for Chase not being able to run tomorrow. I wish someone else could take him and handle him. But oh well, there will be more trials in the future.

Now for some rest, no need for liporexall reviews since I have no appetite. I just hope I feel better soon. I’ve been sick way too long now.

Tatum’s Agility School

Tatum and Chase

More pictures from the flyball tournament! LOL but this one is not of flyball, but of Tatum and Chase playing. After the tournament was over we got to relax and the dogs got to run and play. I love to let them run and play as I think they need to relax and burn off the steam of competition.

Though Tatum didn’t race, she was tired anyway. I worked a little heeling with her, and some dumbbell. She loves it. Her tail wags and she has a happy look on her face.

Yesterday I took Chase, Levi and Tatum out for some work. Chase’s heeling is doing really well! I think he really understands now. Hopefully he’ll do good at the ASCA obedience trial in a couple of weeks. His first obedience trial, he’s in Novice B.

Levi did some open obedience work and did great, too. He’s been stir crazy lately since I haven’t worked with him. Mostly because of his being lame a bit ago but he seems fine again now. He’s in the ASCA obedience too, in Open A.

Tatum got to do some agility and she loves it! She did a jump, tunnel, and jump. I think she’s a little bit advanced for our Friday night classes. I’m thrilled at how much she loves it and how good she does.

I took Muffit to the beginning agility class and he did good too. He jumped and spinned and twirled but he’s learning to settle. And it’s hard for him to settle with other dogs around. But he doesn’t need any Enphedra, he burns a lot of calories being a goof!

Today and tomorrow no dog stuff, just people stuff. And I need to rest. I still have mono and I’m pushing through it but it really is taking it’s toll on me. I need a lot of rest.

The Dogs and School

I take the dogs to ‘school’ quite a bit. We have private lessons and group lessons and we do a lot of homework, too. We have to do homework because that is where most of the learning takes place. We get an overview in class, and then we go home and work at home. It’s the same for people school!

My husband is probably going to be starting school soon. Though he is a programmer, I’ve always wanted to study the arts. And I’d love to do so online. ST. Xavier’s online Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction has some great classes in MS Curriculum.

This course focuses on such as diversity, literacy, and how technology integrates into education. It will help you to prepare for instruction in other types of schools and help you better understand curricular issues and how they impact instructional practice.

And so it’s just an interesting thing to look at! :)

Another Flyball Tourney

Chase Me Flyball

Chase Me Flyball

The first thing that stands out in this picture that I Do Not Like is the red background! Yuck! the other lane had a yellow background. Actually, they alternated red and yellow. I like neutral colors better, but I guess they didn’t set this up for photography! I might need another sd memory card to store pictures on, too.

Anyway, the tournament was fun. I’m dead tired and glad to be home, though.  This tournament was NAFA and was held in Santa Clara, Utah, which is near St. George Utah.  It was super small, only 36 races per day. But it was run like an ASCA or DOCNA trial.. low entry, slow trial. LOL. But it was fun anyway. Chase did a great job. Maybe I’ll get some pictures of him someday. But his box turn is still horrid.

This is Chase Me Frito, a member of our team, the Thunder Paws flyball team.  I think most of my pictures from Saturday were blurry. But maybe I’m just over picky.  Either way you can see more, my entry page to my photo gallery is Collie Tails.

Now back to some regular training and playing with the pups!
