More Pictures of Chase

Born Approximately September 21, 2003
Chase is a mostly black Border Collie. We adopted him in 2004 from CAWS. Chase was dumped at the Utah County Shelter in the middle of the night. The shelter employees could not catch him for three days, thus they named him Chase. Finally he followed a little girl into the shelter, where they were able to snatch him up.

Chase Being Cute Chase was dropped off to our house as a foster covered with feces. We gave him a bath right away. After only a couple weeks, I realized he would be an amazing agility dog. He was mellow for a border collie, friendly with people, and very quick to learn. (Though maybe he has some flat coat retriever in him?)

Little did I realize that he was mellow because he was very out of shape. Now he is high drive, fit, and loves to play tug. He is much different than my collies, and we are learning how to work together. For a while we took a break from agility to work on drive shaping, focus, accuracy, and obedience. Click here to see the blog posts about Chase’s training.

Chase loves to do agility, flyball, and he’s learning to like obedience, but since he doesn’t get to RUN FAST in obedience, it’s not nearly as fun. We think he is a Border Collie, and the AKC has recognized him as such so he can compete in AKC agility. He also likes to chase our cats, but they tease him so it’s even.
