No Flyball Practice

Today is our regular flyball practice day. But due to snow, it’s been cancelled again. Ugh! Chase is bored! Well, we have agility practice tomorrow so that is good, and I plan on taking the boys jogging again, they will like that. Though Levi gets tired for the rest of the day after jogging, he’s not as high stamina as Chase. 🙂

I need to increase my own stamina. The agility trial last time just took me out. And Jogging really does help me build my endurance. Today is a clear day, though cold at 17 degrees. I’ll strap the boys’ boots on and off we’ll go.

Jewel and Cheyenne are doing very well. Jewel eats now on a regular basis, so that makes me very, very happy. I need to get some updated pictures. Her coat is also starting to grow back very fuzzy. She will be as gorgeous as Cheyenne in a year or so when her coat is all back. Cheyenne’s coat is also growing out in the back where he had been trimmed awfully. He is so gorgeous now. He’ll be getting a grooming today or tomorrow, and I think I do a fair job, and I’m a heck of a lot cheaper. 😉 And Cheyenne has learned the dog door! lol… after five months, one day we see a fuzzy collie butt going out the door. And he can come in, too, though that took him another couple days to learn. Yay!

Cheyenne is a typical goofy collie boy, and Jewel is a typical, more sassy, collie girl. I just love these collies!

Jobs and Jobs

Well, I may be changing jobs.

I hope so. Still working for the State. Still working under the same Department’s umbrella, but working on a different team having different duties.

It sounds like a great change. Some bad things… like I’ll have to talk directly to users. No too keen on that, but I’ve done it before and I have to admit I’m pretty good at it.  But I should have more freedoms. I might be able to go back to 10 hour days, or have some other type of flex schedule.  I’ll have more input about the work I do.  I’ll probably get to do more web apps, which are completely fun.  🙂

So we’ll see. My current employer doesn’t want to let me go, so there is some discussion going on. However I haven’t even received an official offer yet for the new job, so I shouldn’t jump my guns!

Cheyenne is doing so well on the stairs. He is going up just about on his own, though he still needs the cheese on the stairs to get him the confidence he needs. He’s such a sweetheart.

My neck/back still hurts. Going to a Chiropractor tonight to see if he can help any. I’ll ask him if I should take a break with the dog things for the rest of the month. Tugging with Chase aggravates it, and I do want to be better so that I can continue the dog things! I’m loving Obedience, Agility, and Flyball. They are all a blast!

Too Many Dog Sports

You know, work really gets in the way of doing the things I love. Now I do dog classes… oh, 3 times a week? Or is it four. I think just three but I’m going to start to alternate. If only I didn’t have to work…

I’m doing Flyball on Sundays with Chase now, and oh my gosh does he love it. To run like mad over and over again… he’s not too ball motivated but he gets them just fine, the tug is his main reward. 🙂

Monday night is agility class with both Levi and Chase. Tuesday was heeling class but that’s on hold for now, instead I’m going to take Chase to beginning obedience Thursday nights. He really needs focus work and I just LOVE the person I’m taking the classes from. Then Saturdays I’m going to some agility practice. But that is also going to alternate depending on what time I have.

I have not been doing much herding with Levi. Probably won’t be for a while, though I would like to get his 2nd ASCA Started leg… we’ll have to see. Time and money, never enough of both! And he’s not really all that good anyway. Maybe the next smooth collie pup will be…
