Ugh.. two days of agility has really made me behind. In blogging, and in life. Yesterday I basically rested up all day, went to bed early. I also burned all the videos to DVD and will be giving them out to my friends who I recorded. I hope to get more vids of Chase and Levi up here too.
The trial was up in Farmington and the drive isn’t bad up there and back. I even drove in the snow on Sunday morning.. I am proud to say. On the freeway! It wasn’t snowing much, just light, and the roads were wet not snow packed or icy. I’m so afraid of driving in weather since my second rollover. I always make sure I get a good auto insurance quote when looking for new insurance because driving freaks me out.
Anyway it was a fun trial and I’m now trying to catch up on things like blogging! I also bought a new camera which I’m excited about! It’s an SLR… ooo watch out for lots of dog pictures!
I am attempting to pull a video off a minidisc and load it on youtube… it’s Chase’s open FAST run. He is such a great border collie. Beautiful. He got 79 out of 80 points… we didn’t get just one jump. However, the buzzer went of just before he got that last jump so his score was 78. He was 7 seconds slower than the first place dog. He got second place. That boy is a bullet and amazing!
In Open Standard he did well, too. He qualified and got his open standard title. So tomorrow he’ll have his first excellent run. No more spending 2 years in Open like I did with Levi. Chase still needs some work but he’s coming along nicely. I did feel like I was pulling him in to me hard, and often. And the courses were not really all that twisty. Nice courses.
His JWW run, which was our first, was a mess. But I think it was me because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind yet.
My agility collie boy Levi did super too. No Qs, but he weaved and had lots of energy and speed. I think I have psychological problems about Qing with him, maybe I need a therapist about it. 🙂 Tatum also did well. She got her first measurement, 20 3/8 inches. Just about what I was thinking. She’ll jump 20 inches and that will be good for her. She slept most of the day, didn’t seem nervous much at all. Only with some people but she got treats and pets on her neck and head and she was good.
All in all it was a good day and as soon as I get a video I’ll edit this post and put it up!
Edit.. here is the video. Please ignore the dumb handler tricks that wasted us those 7 seconds!
I like this place better than YouTube.. maybe. ZippyVideo:
Gah making videos takes forever. Especially when one (mainly me) doesn’t understand the software she is using yet. But I am learning. For one, the fourth minidisc was corrupt, so I spent a few hours, and then $30, to find some software to recover it. With my husband’s advice I was able to recover the whole disc. Yay! You know, we can’t miss any of the races!
Actually, I didn’t get all of them. I tried to keep recording, once, when a disc was full so missed some there. Bummer. But I got most of them. And when we first started to film me and the friend who were filming only got about 2 or 3 races per minidisc. Sunday, though, we figured it out and packed many more races onto one mini disc. The heats are only 20 secs each, or so, and 4 or 5 to a race.
So now I’m cutting up all the big files into races, then I’ll put them on a menu. And without having any cabinet hardware they won’t be too pretty, but they’ll be good enough!
Our flyball weekend was awesome. Chase had a great time and did wonderful. The name of his team was Thunder Paws Swift Step. Our seed time was a bit slow for the division we were in, but would have been a bit fast for the other division. So we didn’t win many races. But on Sunday we did come in 4th place.
Our other two teams did great. Thunder Paws Don’t Blink tied for first with the Utah Tail Blazers in their division. However the Tail Blazers won because their time was faster. We were happy to take 2nd!
It was Chase’s first tournament, U-FLI, and he got his Top Flight pin, his TF level I, TF Level II, and even his TF Level III! He ended the weekend with 1060 points! And he had such a great time, he loved it, and did really well! And his Mom was even figuring out passes. 🙂
I have only one video uploaded to YouTube so far, I’ve embedded it below.
Today I am uploading videos to YouTube. Actually, I just bought, and am downloading, Roxio. I really need a good video editor and creator, and from what I have read Roxio and Nero are the two most popular, and best. I like the specs of Roxio so I bought it. So I should be able to burn some nice DVDs of all these videos. I should send some to Hudson’s old foster mom, too, and Bianca’s. 🙂
Here is Chase playing with Tatum and Bianca. I’m so glad to see Chase playing!
