Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Well to all you’s folk out there that celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a happy day. We just go over to the parental unit’s house and eat and hang out and chat. I wish we could take the dogs with, but it’s really a human holiday and they would probably just be bored anyway. They have other ways of having a good time and celebrating things. And they usually involve pizza’s from Ma and Paws dog bakery. I may… Continue reading »

My New Aquabowls Are Here!!!

Levi and the Aquabowls

A while ago I posted about my favorite dog water bowls… and I was so upset when my aquabowl was left on the stove when the oven was turned on, and a hole was melted in it! I was devastated! Okay maybe not devastated but I was pretty darn sad. I mean, it’s only a thing… but still, it was a very important thing! So off I went to the internet to find out how to get a replacement. And… Continue reading »

Lucy and Levi

Levi and Lucy

Well today has been a nice down day. Yesterday my sister came over and we had a garage sale. That was a ton of work. I’m glad it’s over, glad we only did it for one day. The other day when I did the photo shoot… strangely enough, I took pictures of some of our dogs other than Jet too. LOL This is Lucy and Levi, our old pair… Lucy is almost 12, and Levi will be 11 in November.… Continue reading »

My Ankles Are Still Bad

Jet in his Cool Coat

Ugh. I’ve been sick for a while now… I only get sick a couple of times a year, really, but when I do I get really bad. And it takes me a couple of weeks to get back on my feet again. So I’ve actually been staying off my feet for a while. Mainly because I’m sick, but my ankles don’t really seem like they are heeling up at all either.

I took Levi on a really short 20 minute walk yesterday. I woke up this morning at 4am and both my ankles just hurt like crazy. Down the outside, below my ankle bones, and towards my toes. I wonder what is going on. Maybe I need to go to a sport doctor or a specialist or something. It’s like I have damaged a tendon or something on the same place on both of my ankles. Does that mean they are weak? Or what? I dunno.

I want to go swimming again. I haven’t been because even small activity has been hard on me. Guess I won’t need a Texas truck accident lawyer because I just want to stay home and not go out. Though I hope to do some agility with Jet and Tatum on Saturday. And I entered Chase in an AKC agility trial this weekend. Our first in months. I want to see if our Stacy workshops have paid off and see if my handling is any better. Maybe we can pull off an excellent Q, I really would love that.

Anyway, I hate being in pain. I want my ankles to heel up. The doc said to keep weight bearing on them, but not to twist them, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. But still they hurt. I think at about age 35 we just need to start replacing body parts, they just wear out so dang fast.

Give Me Hooves

Jet and Muffit

Okay so I’m done with feet. Well I wish I had a choice, but, I don’t, because I’m human, and we haven’t developed prosthetic strong metal type ankles and feet yet.

Monday i went out jogging and was just fine and then came home, and walking from the street, on our front lawn grass, from the street to the house, I stepped in a hole and twisted my right ankle. I went down, swore, and heard a crack. UGH. Jet and Chase didn’t know what was up with me.

So now I have a sprained right ankle to match my sprained left ankle. I sprained my left back in October 2007 doing agility. For the last three or so months it’s been hurting again… the left one. So I’ve been wearing my brace and taking care of it. Well now the right one is out.

Maybe some dental discounts would help me, or some stupid joint discounts even. I went to the doc today and had both ankle’s x-rayed. He said they look okay, though I have some bone spurs and some arthritis. But they are minor. But he didn’t really address any soft-tissue things. Maybe I need to make the trek back out to the sports doctor and ask him. This doc, a family doc, said to keep weight bearing on it, so keep walking on it, but keep my activites lower. So probably no agility for a while. Agility has got to be the worst dog sport for human ankles.

So if I had hooves, maybe that’d be better. I could be a Satyr and not have to worry about feet. Though I know, I know, feet give us a lot of mobility that hooves don’t. But still, I hate how they can be so weak, and I hate pain!

I Love Mailboxes

Muffit Hiking

Okay this is a bit off topic here but please forgive me… and actually to start off I wanted to put a picture in of Muffit hiking. He is doing so well hiking with my husband. They go about 3 times a week! And yes, the husband eats pizza almost every day (home made pizza no less) and he is loosing weight! Gads men, they just don’t get it!

Anyway so I brought my Mailbox back with me from Germany. I just had to have one… I got it back in 2002 and I don’t know if I even have a picture of it. I really should. Maybe I do somewhere.

I have it attached to the outside of the house. It’s a wall mount mailbox that kinda looks like the link just there. I love having fancy mailboxes on the house… :) Though, of course, what I’m really looking for is a dog type mail boxes. With a custom design of my dogs… of course. :) But I don’t think I can afford that anytime soon!

So anyway back to Muffit… he is so happy when he gets to go on hikes with the Dad. He even found a porcupine just the other day, managed to get away with only two quills, so that’s good. Goof. I’m glad he didn’t get hurt!

Back For a Week

Jet on the Beach

Well, we’ve been back from Denmark for a full week already. Wow time just flies. I haven’t been doing much, but I want to get Jet started on 2×2 weaves. I got out a set of 2x2s and started him a little bit, but I’ve misplaced my 2×2 weaves DVD and so now I’m not sure what to do and I don’t want to do anything wrong!

I went on a hike with the husband, Jet, Tatum and Muffit yesterday. I need to get the pictures off my camera and load them up, too. The dogs had a great time and I did too. Though I’m still getting over this darn cold I got in Denmark and today I am resting. I just need to find the best eye cream for dark circles so my eyes don’t look like I just woke up!

Isn’t this a nice picture of Jet? My friend Mark took it in Denmark on the beach. I love the lighting.

More Pictures of Denmark

Windmills

I think for a while I’ll be posting random pictures of Denmark that I haven’t posted before. :) This picture is from a place we went to near Vejle. The guy who built these windmills built them all by hand. It was amazing. They are all small versions and they all work. Walking around them and seeing them was incredible. I don’t think I brought Jet with this time though… he rarely stayed home, but sometimes he did. :)

No POS systems here… just manual construction and workings. I’m going to put a DVD together of the pictures, and some video too. Not sure I’ll post it all on YouTube but maybe I’ll put a smaller version up! :)

The trip was awesome. I want to go back already. Though my body is starting to adjust to this time. I went to the dog park this morning… got up at 5:30 am. LOL. That is way early for me for a holiday day. So I took Jet, Levi and Tatum to the park at 7. Then I went to some agility training at 10 with Chase and Jet. Chase loved it, he hasn’t been out of the house for two weeks! He was bored.

Now everyone is happily sleeping. Jet is on my lap, making it hard to type. :)
