Wednesday

Is it already Wednesday? Wow. Well, that’s a good thing, then. I’m on call tonight, and I have agility class. I missed last week’s class because of strep.

I’m still not 100%, maybe about 60%? This strep has really hit me hard. I want to get back to jogging and exercising and working with the dogs, but I’ve been so tired and have had no motivation whatsoever.

I did take Chase to beginning class last night. He’s doing really well. He’s smart and quick, and he calms down pretty fast, which is nice. I love that he has an ‘off’ switch, very important for a BC that I have. I hope he’s fast for agility.. I haven’t worked with him much on that, but maybe, if I feel better this weekend, we’ll see how he does on the dog walk in the back yard. Or I can take him to Willowcreek, get him on some more equipment. He’s still too young to jump though, he’s probably only about a year. But he can learn other things. The training he needs most, though, is obedience. 🙂

The lastest on Agility

Agility is my new greatest passion. I went to my first trial last weekend (September 18 & 19) in Grand Junction, Colorado, after a ten week break due to an injury in my leg, which actually didn’t end up being an injury as much as a pinched nerve… or rather, a tilted pelvis.

Anywho, Levi is my agility boy, and he’s doing very well, despite his handler! He attained his first two NADAC titles last weekend, NAC and TN-N. (Novice Agility Certificate & Tunnelers Novice) He is such a good boy. Not sure if NADAC is going to be his thing, though, because he is not quite fast enough. We might be able to get into open eventually, but I have my doubts about going beyond that into Elite. We just might be in Novice/Open forever in NADAC.

That’s okay, because the timing in AKC is not as tight as NADAC, and Levi already has two out of his three legs for his open standard title in AKC! Our next ACK trial is the end of October, so we’ll see if we can get him his last leg. Would be fun!
