Well as this is posted I’m up running Tatum in agility! I just wanted to post this cute picture of Tatum and her friend Sonny. Yup, it’s Tatum’s big day. She entered in her first real AKC agility trial. She’s done ASCA before, but For Exhibition Only, which means she can jump 4 inches lower but not get any Qs. She’s also done an AKC trial before but it was just FAST. And she was nervous and FAST won’t really be her thing. Tomorrow she’s in an AKC trial and he’s in Standard and Jumpers. Novice in both. Yup Tatum is going to be in an AKC trial this weekend. Just for one day, on Friday. She gets so nervous at new places, I’ve been able to take her to this place we are trialing in 3 times now. I am just curious. I’ve heard it time and time again. When teaching a new dog agility, don’t teach sequencing. Start on short sequences not more than about six jumps (or obstacles) in a row. I don’t understand this and I’ll tell you why. Chase, my BC, is great at short sequences of about six to eight jumps. After that, I lose him. Tatum is such a goof. This is a picture of her squeezing her body into the Jet sized bed. We have this bed right by the heater vent. Jet loves it in the winter. And, apparently, so does Tatum. Well, I got up this morning and Jet an Tatum were full of energy and so I thought why not take them to the park. So off we went. They had such a great time. I took Levi, too.
