Whew… I’m home. It was a long drive. I’m not crazy about such a long drive from Colorado… and yet I’m going to do it again when I go to a USDAA agility trial with Chase in May. I didn’t even bring my golf bags because it was too cold to golf!
I got home about 7pm last night. I slept in a bit this morning then came in to work. It was a fun trip, though. Levi only got one Q and Chase didn’t get any. I am going to start running them in separate venues to see if that is easier on my brain. We’ll see.
I’ll be getting back to posting and dropping Entrecards in a bit. I do have to work a bit first, though.
Woo Hoo in Colorado! We are sitting at a Starbucks getting some free internet access and having an iced coffee. The weather is awesome, which is good, because it’s been snowy and cold the last few days.
Agility was great. I am amazed at how well a three ring, three judge trial ran. We were done by 2 or 3 pm each day. When we left some rings were still going, but since we are in Excellent we left pretty early. And even the other rings were done pretty quick.
Today is our day off and we went to Boulder and took the dogs on a hike. I’ll get up some pictures when I get home.
We have been shopping for gifts in boulder, got some birthday presents, maybe I’ll get some birthday invitations if I find some nice ones!
Gonna head back home now for a bit (to our friend’s home) and take a nap! I’ll blog later!
I’m going to Colorado on Wednesday for a Three Day AKC Agility Trial. I’m driving down to Richfield to hook up with my friend there who has shelties she does agility and obedience with. And we are going to carpool to Colorado and stay there with a friend who has a couple of Australian Shepherds (do I hear a herding breed theme here? LOL). Anyway, it’s a long drive. 2.5 Hours to Richfield, and then another 7 to Denver. I wonder if there will be any new country music stations on the road. I think so… since usually there are many, and sometimes only, country music stations on the road. Unless we had Satellite radio, which we don’t, but it might be nice to have since I travel to dog things so much.
I wish I had a radio that supported iTunes tagging… I spoke about it before a while ago. I always forget the names of the artists when I hear a song on the radio, and if I could tag, it, I could keep track of it!
Fortunately we won’t be driving all the way to Florida, so we won’t be utilizing Florida High Definition Radio stations… but I really am enjoying HD Radio, the local stations, and would love to find more. I like news stations.. yeah I know, I’m old and boring. LOL.
Anyway, I don’t think I’ll have internet access for the week I’m there. We’ll see, I’ll bring my laptop just in case!
Oh boy.. the tournement is over. We had an awesome time. Chase did great, as usual. He ran fast and clean and got more points. His team broke out twice.. which is really cool and I’ll explain it later. Okay maybe it’s not that cool because we don’t get points for that run, but it was nice to run so fast. And after we had to slow our passes down and determine what speed we needed to run to still win but not break out a third time.
Tatum also did good today, she played with a few dogs and pooped and peed. Just one poop a day but that is better than none. Two pees a day and that is better than one! She is going to be a great collie doing flyball! She is still shy but when she gets used to being at tournaments she’ll be fine. This was her first flyball tournament she came to socialize in, and he had her tail up a lot of the time and was exploring. Though she did get spooked some too.
I’m tired… had a margarita to drink and now I’ve toast. But it was yummy. Going to go to bed and sleep in tomorrow, then drive home whenever after I wake up. Zzzzzz Chase and Tatum are already asleep.

Well… Chase, Tatum and me are in St. George. The internet connection here at the Red Cliffs Inn is not too good… but it looks like my two pictures are going to Flickr now. Hopefully they went… and then I’ll include them here in this post.
I’m blogging from my desktop, using BlogDesk. Hopefully it will upload okay. I need to test this out for when I go on my cruise and I don’t want to spend a lot of money being online.
Anyway… the drive was uneventful. I didn’t get out of Salt Lake until 1:30. Got here at 5:30. Not bad… 4 hours isn’t too long a drive anymore. I even drove through rain! And maybe some snow. Since my latest rollover (I’ve been in 2) I’ve been very afraid of driving in weather. But with all the driving I’ve been doing the last couple of years, I’ve gotten better. I still won’t drive in the snow.
Tatum is pretty nervous. She hasn’t peed or pooped since we left. Which is no surprise. She is sleeping now. She’ll loosen up in a day or two. Chase is just fine, as usual. He loves to travel.
I’ll try to blog tomorrow after the first day of the flyball tournament! Our team, the Thunder Paws, is gonna kick butt!
I was just looking at my calendar and realized that yes, I am going to be much too busy this spring. As usual, I guess. Lots of dog sports going on. And my Husband wants to squeeze a camping trip in there too… we didn’t go camping at all last year, and we both missed it. So this year we have to squeeze a couple in between my dog events. I’m going to need some vehicle tracking to even figure out where I am.
This weekend is Flyball Tournament in St. George. Then the following weekend is a weekend off. After that, April 12th, I’ll be in Colorado doing agility. April 19th we are going camping. April 26 is a USDAA trial I’ve entered Chase in. May 3 is a 3 day AKC agility trial. May 10 I’m going back to Colorado just with Chase for USDAA trial, and then finally on May 17th I’ll be able to stay home that weekend.
Ugh! The worst part will be missing flyball practice. I wonder if someone would take Chase for me, on those rare weekends when he’s not coming with me.

I just got back from Los Angeles, California. And while it’s not really all that exotic, it’s a heck of a lot warmer than Utah this time of year! Though flights to Tenerife would be much more fun to look into, as I love to get out of the country. It’s hard, anymore, having these dogs in our house so we don’t travel much unless it’s to a dog event. Still, I’m going on a cruise in October, and I do love to travel.
I would love to go to Tahiti sometime, too. A friend of mine just got back from there. Spain would be fun, too. I love visiting Europe. So maybe it’s time to check some fun destinations out!

So have you ever heard of dry shampoo? I have not, until today. And as you know I’m always out and about doing dog things. And traveling, too. I am not going to travel as much as I did last year, but I’m going to travel some. And when I travel it’s a pain to make sure the shampoo bottle doesn’t break open and spill all over everything.
When I was at collie nationals in Boise back in April of 2006… they changed the time of the trial for the second day. They made it an hour earlier! Of course I didn’t look at the time for the second day, as they are always the same time for both days. Anyway, I got there late, and it would have been nice to have some dry shampoo to use for a quick shampoo, instead of having a greasy head!
I might just have to throw a bottle of this stuff in my car. And in the trailer. Then I won’t ever have to worry about not having shampoo.. and a quick shampoo, at that. And I do get pretty slimy, sometimes, going all over the place with the dogs!

Today we relaxed. We should have yesterday, but that’s okay. We went to Lake Mead and Rogers Springs. Was fun. The drive was too long and the traffic was horrible, but it was nice being with the boys.
I keep looking at Chase’s new jewelry, his flyball pins!
Levi has been sleeping all day. I think his feet hurt because of the short hike we did yesterday. And Chase keeps wanting to go out. I think he thinks hotels mean we do something. And we are just relaxing today! I am enjoying the down time, the alone time, that is so rare for me.
October 19, 2007 – 5:00 pm
Well after about a 6 hour drive, not bad at all, Chase, Levi, Rumer and I arrived in Logandale Nevada. Flyball tomorrow! I am so excited! Should be a ton of fun.
Who is Rumer, you may ask? She is a springer spaniel who needed transport down here. Very sweet girl! I forgot to get a picture of her and she is already gone. But I figured since we are coming down, why not bring a rescue who needs a drive. A friend of mine brought another down. Transport is always needed somewhere!
Anyway, off to set up for the tournament!
