I don’t know if the dogs like Cottage Cheese Day better than raw meat days… but Wendy Volhard recommends that the dogs have a day off meat to let their bodies relax and clean out.
Thursdays is usually Cottage Cheese Day at our house. The dogs love the stuff, and ate their breakfasts heartily. I hate the stuff. I try it every time I feed it, and every time I hate it. Actually, there was one brand that wasn’t too bad, but now I don’t remember which it is.

The idea is to give the kidneys a break from dealing with all that meat protein. Right now, only Targ gets cottage cheese.. the girls are on poultry and honestly, they don’t do well on cottage cheese.. go figure.
Put honey on it.. makes it wonderful.. or mix in some pineapple (I’m talking about for you).
I’m going to make it I think. It’s not supposed to be hard. There is the short hand way using vinegar but I think I’m going to buy the starter cultures and try to make it at home.

Oh Johann I hope your loose stools solid up soon! Glad you like the Cottage Cheese. Isn’t putting sugar on it, for humans, kinda not the point to eat something that is supposed to help lose weight? LOL

True they are not getting all that meat. 🙂 Cool I’m glad I’m not the only one who does it. Oh that reminds me, we have lamb bones… I keep forgetting, I’ll have to give them out tomorrow.
