Maybe I’m just vain.. but I think I do a fair job taking pictures. I have fairly good timing so I can get nice box shots for flyball. And I like the creative shots that are uncommon and fun. So I’m going to pack up my Olympus e300 DSLR and a friend’s printer and take them to the flyball tournament in Pahrump, Nevada, in April.

Maybe I’ll sell some. I’d love to get some nice pictures of people’s dogs too them. I won’t charge too much. And my team, of course, gets free ones.

So wish me luck. I like my camera. I also have an account at PrintRoom.com where people can buy copies later one if they want some. My PrintRoom Page… if you want to see some. I don’t have much on there yet, though. Maybe I’d make enough money to buy New York Yankees tickets… but I’d probably spend it on supplies for more pictures!
Great Photos, I am a cat person but I appreciate a good dog photo
Cheers

I couldn’t take a good picture to save my life. You have two great hobbies… Dogs and Pictures. They go very well together.
I can’t wait see your pictures in April.

That top photo is an amazing shot! I wish someone could get shots of my pups in action like that, mine always come out blurry – or the dog bowls me over before I get the shot!

Thanks Leigh. About a year and a half ago I bought a Digital SLR, the only type of digital camera fast enough to capture dogs in action like this. I live my camera! I can sit and take pics like this all day. ๐

Your action shots are amazing. Do you use any special shutter speeds etc? I am trying to take action pictures of my paintball team but they aren’t coming out as good as yours ๐

It depends. If I’m indoors I have to turn the ISO way up, which makes for very grainy shots. And speed up the shutter and try to find a balance between the aperture and the shutter.
Outside in the sun I usually just use the sports setting, and let the camera do all the thinking!
How cool!
If you get some cool pictures at the tournament, I’d enjoy seeing some more.
By the way, I recently found your blog and am enjoying reading through it so far. I’m taking a pre-agility class with my dog, so I love reading about people who are actually competing with their dogs. She’s doing well in the class, but we still have a long way to go!
cheers,
Mary
